FAQ/Rules
FAQ [Rules]
General
Out of Character
In short, OOC=/=IC.
Please be sure to show respect toward each other, regardless of the status of play between your characters. If any issues arise that cannot be settled between players, they can be brought forward to the mods. However, we hope that players are mature enough to be able to settle problems alone.
Player Restrictions
We ask that all players are above the age of 18, no matter what. Exceptions will not be made.
Content
There are no restrictions on what can and can’t be played. However, if the content goes above R/NC-17, please ensure the use of LJ-cuts and warnings.
Activity
Players are expected to post at least once a fortnight [unless a hiatus has been taken beforehand]. Checks will be made on a regular basis, and a single warning will be allowed for each character if you fail to meet the requirements.
Spelling and grammar
Please do your best to ensure posts have been checked before posting. Spell-checkers are available through InsaneJournal if required, so please be sure to use it if this is an issue for you.
Characters
Limits
You are currently allowed a maximum of five characters. Depending on your activity levels and how well you cope with these characters, it may be possible to pick up another at a later point. If you wish to do so, please contact a moderator regarding this.
Canon
Currently, characters from all fandoms are allowed. However, there are limits in place dependent on the character selected. If your character comes from a world where they have any form of ‘supernatural’ ability, they will be unable to use this within the game. The same applies to those with any inhuman features (such as animal ears/tails, wings, etc). These will cease to exist when they travel through the TDE.
Characters that will be found within the Post-Judgment Day world of Terminator are unavailable for playing from a point previous to the year 2033. Even if they aren’t in play, they still continue to exist in the world, and are thus unavailable.
Any characters with cybernetic parts may find their equipment damaged/destroyed during the chronoportation, unless said equipment is covered with organic flesh. However, due to the nature of the game, taking on a character with cybernetics is not advised. We wouldn’t want them shot on site!
In short, all characters will seem like regular humans, in both appearance and ability, regardless of their status in their own worlds.
Dead Characters
Characters that have died in their canon are allowed within the game. However, they should be taken from a point prior to their death, regardless of the point that other characters from the same fandom may be taken from.
Alternate Universes
Although the premise would make it possible to allow alternate versions of a character, we will not be allowing more than one version of each character. [For example, with Terminator 3 John Connor in-game, we will not be allowing another John from Terminator 2/Sarah Connor Chronicles.]
However, as some actors may portray different characters in different series’, the use of the same PB is allowed. [An example being both Dean Winchester and Alec McDowell being allowed at the same time, despite both being represented by Jensen Ackles]
Original Characters
A limited amount of original characters are allowed in the game. However, they are only to be taken from the Terminator Universe in which the game is set. No exceptions will be made to this rule, as there are literally thousands of other characters available outside of this.
Forth Wall
Obviously, there will be some characters who may have seen or read parts of the Terminator franchise [or any of the other fandoms in play] before. However, in order to prevent any issues arising from this, we ask that you try to avoid making any reference to this, especially to other characters.
Posting
Never Safe
In character posts are to be placed in the main community. The purpose of the main community is to allow characters the opportunity to communicate with each other, so players are free to reply to anything found therein. However, it is also possible to 'filter' posts to specific characters. If doing so, please ensure that the character allowed are clearly listed within the post. [Either the subject bar, a filter header, or an OOC note]
Continuities
The logging community is used to keep a record of any logged RP’s; be they through a messenger, e-mail, or the log community itself. If posting a log, please use the following format:
Date:
Characters:
Rating:
Warnings:
Summary:
Log:
Homeplate
The OOC community is for exactly that; all Out Of Character conversations. Whether you’re introducing yourself or your new characters, plotting, or trying to contact another player, the community is free for use at any time.
Character Journals
Journals are free to be used as you wish. They can be used to keep track of character information, used as a ‘diary’ for your character, or left unused. However, it may be advisable to keep a contact post within the journal so that other players have an easy way to keep in contact.
Tagging
When posting, please ensure the use of the tagging system in order to make it easier for other players to find posts. Also, if responding to another characters post, please make sure to add your characters tag to their list.
Questions
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask away. You can contact the mods through the Skynet Journal or via email at neversafemods@googlemail.com too.
